I've replied to this one several times boys!
I cannot piggy back Exit 17 site from my website as I was told as my guy is not able to support the forum so it's a no I'm afraid.
I also said we could get the website running again if we got hold of the people that Bob used and pay monthly fee to get it up and running. How much we got in kitty, Bruno?
Other comments were why do we need outdated website when really we only need the forum. It is the forum I miss. I was always peed off that it would say meet next blah blah and of course it was months out of date.
The person we need to get hold of if we wish to pay is
Frank Scafer at fks@net-sites.co.uk or simply admin@net-sites.co.uk. They will surely be able to put site back up. Bob had 2 sites costing £15 plus vat per month, presumably it will cost less than this if it's just one site, at a guess £10 or so.
After writing this email I've decided I'll bloody well email him myself and see what he says. I'll let you know as soon as I get reply.

Hey guys
Sorted website. I know the bloke has put old page back up, I'll email him again. I've paid for it up to 31st December, 2010 and have asked for him to include alterations to a certain degree. He has agreed if we put his logo at bottom of site.
This whole thing inc domain name and hosting and Vat is £92. I've paid it but if we've got enough club funds then maybe I could have it back. I'm just exasperated that it's not been sorted beforehand.
I'm so pleased we've got it back.

as is said befor the forum is a completely seperate site we have the exit 17 forum on proboards forum server site - its free as tghey raise their revenue from all the adverts and pop ups... we dont actually need to have the webpage exit17.org.uk to have the forum i posted this on our facebook site a while back and tested the forum and it was still live then. my only concern with the exit17 website is that it is so out of date and do we really need to be paying for a page with no relevance... that said its done and i dont think nita should be out of pocket so if we have the funds then pay her.... on another note when we having the pre xmas piss up

I wish we could update the site regullay,change pictures, change dates links etc
make it interesting and up to date, the pages are fine its just the content
only i dont know how to do such things

tis very easy to do and i could do it however Tim is much more up to date than me with events around the area / uk etc and he was fantastic at info when the newsletter existed. he is in IT for his bruv now and works from home so he may be able to update the page photos etc....
he is worth asking!! Tim any chance - I know you are tchnically capable of doing this quickly once a week

I'm flattered but its not that straightforward as Alan has told me!
I'll consult the IT bods at Bro's work (remember I am still working for the railway at least for the forseeable as they had to apologise and take me back on!) I am sure we can sort summat out.

Hello everyone,
Yes Leigh, I agreed that when you came up trumps with fact that forum was still working regardless of website I thought wow well done Leigh, result. But many in the club took pride in the website
being there even if it wasn't updated so I thought I would just get on with it.
The fact that they have put their logo and the foot of the page means we now have rapport with them to make alterations to a degree. I eliminated that "meet at lambrettas bar on blah" We can add calendar to events page when we get LCGB dates along with South West Scooter Club and VFM. I'll do this in January as soon as they come out.
I'm sure if I asked the guy how to upload new pics he could explain it. He was going to send me the codes etc but I drew the line at that point in time as I just wanted site back up quickly!!
He has also asked me for other people in club who want to volunteer their email addresses so he can set up joebloggs@exit17.org.uk to be sent to them. On the day I volunteered so you'll see nita@exit17.org.uk which will come in directly to my own email. I emailed both Tim and Bruno asking if they would volunteer but both email addresses I have for both of them are incorrect or more likely out of date!!! Can you both email your new email addresses guys?
Prob need 2 people besides myself to have as contacts on the website.
Yes, onto Christmas piss up. We usually have it first Sunday of December and leave scoots at home. I suggested 5th Dec therefore but Mickey can't make it so how about 12th December?? Some others won't be able to make that day either so let's get voting. First 5 to answer 5th or 12th Dec makes the decision. I'll start a separate thread.
Does anyone have anything they particularly want on the front of our web page? If so email it to me and I'll ask the guy.

It really isn't that difficult to do with the correct tools, just needs someone with the time and drive to want to do it.
I have neither of those, but if someone has I'm happy to spend a bit of phone time describing what to do.

Thanks Rich, I'll send the guy the two email addresses now I have them so that either myself Tim or Bruno will be able to receive any email enquires and it won't therefore be reliant on just one person to answer.
In January when I have the recent calendar of events for the new year I'll get the guy to upload them and take things from there. Not too sure if I wish to be the one who tries to update site as I'm no dam good at it but if I change my mind I'll get hold of you and book and slot to talk to you.
