Hi I've finally dipped my toe into the water of scooter ownership and am now the happy owner of a 1964 Vespa Douglas Sportique. Whilst everything is up and running currently, I would like to know who locally (i.e. within riding distance of Bath) services and restores (e.g. 12V conversion) classic Vespas, as since Revival Sccoters and Weston Scooter Parts have closed all the other places I'm aware of appear to be Lambretta specialists only. Anyone got any good recommendations ?

Yes, Slick are the ones to see.
12 v conversion not terribly cheap or easy to do IME: new wiring loom, regulator, HT coil, custom made stator plate, new lamps. The only thing you can reuse IME is the lamp holders and switch gear!
But see what Andy suggests! I built a sportique from scratch some years ago, would have been 100 times easier if hey had had 10 inch wheels as then you can just slap a Px200 motor in and rally or pk/px forks -better handling etc although arguably less original etc.
